Job Summary
Under the direction of the Head Coach, this position uses athletics to educate college students, focusing on inter-collegiate competition to build character, work ethic, discipline, resilience, teamwork, and leadership. It assists in planning, directing, and coaching the men’s inter-collegiate lacrosse program, typically working with all student-athletes. Requires experience coaching at the collegiate level or comparable experience.
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Athlete Team Management: Develops student-athlete skills, plans and executes practices, supports in-game management, coordinates team programming, analyzes video for scouting, assists in recruiting and retaining talent, and supports academic integration.
- Operational Complexity: Assists in executing team strategy, logistics, and operations within budget, participates in professional activities, and communicates effectively with staff.
Additional Responsibilities
Helps run the inter-collegiate men’s lacrosse program, instructs and develops student-athletes, makes strategic decisions, oversees strength and conditioning, develops recruiting strategies, handles administrative tasks like travel and equipment, and assists with special events.
Working Conditions
Evening and weekend work required. Involves extreme environmental conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and high noise levels.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift equipment associated with the sport.
Qualifications
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, minimum 1 year of collegiate lacrosse coaching or 4 years of playing at collegiate, national, or professional level.
- Additional Qualifications: Substantial sport-specific knowledge, understanding of college athletics philosophy, valid driver’s license, and CPR/First Aid certification.
