Job Summary
Assist with all aspects of running and coaching the women's rowing program. This includes but is not limited to recruiting, coaching varsity and walk-on athletes, fundraising, administrative duties, and equipment maintenance and repair. Together with the head coach and other assistant, you'll be responsible for ensuring the successful development of the women's rowing team, and all that it entails.
Essential Responsibilities
- Coaching Novice and Varsity athletes. Planning and executing water and land practice for both groups based on skillset and needs of each individual group.
- Recruit athletes - both rowers and out of sport, and on and off campus. Visit practices of local sports teams (rowing and other sports) as well as out of region rowing teams to identify and recruit prospects.
- Manage equipment upkeep and repair. This includes boats, launches, oars, ergs, technology, etc. Develop a systematic plan to ensure all equipment is being maintained and replaced on a schedule and is in top working order.

Experience and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of collegiate rowing coaching, competitive rowing, or related athletics experience.
Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of rowing techniques, training methodologies, and athlete development.
- Experience recruiting and retaining student-athletes preferred.
- Experience working with student-athletes in a collegiate or competitive athletics environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to support the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes.
- Experience with equipment maintenance, practice planning, and team operations preferred.
- Knowledge of NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, student-athletes, alumni, and campus partners.
- Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, travel, and attend team events as required.
- Ability to safely operate rowing equipment and support on-water training activities.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid driver's license required. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
