Assistant Coach- Womens Soccer & Head JV Coach W. Soccer
Description
The Assistant Women's Soccer Coach supports all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III program, contributing to the development of student-athletes in alignment with Simpson College's academic mission and values. This role assists the head coach in practice planning, game preparation, and recruiting, while fostering a team culture focused on accountability, sportsmanship, and academic success. The assistant coach also plays a key role in player development, performance analysis, and program operations, ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA guidelines.
The position requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, along with a commitment to mentoring student-athletes and supporting their growth both on the field and in the classroom.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Serves as a representative of the College, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the SC community and with the public.
- Assist the Head Coach with the training and coaching of assigned student-athletes for the women's soccer program.
- Assist with the scouting and recruitment of qualified student-athletes for the women's soccer program.
- Assist with the promotion of the women's soccer program.
- Coordinate and monitor the academic retention program for the women's soccer program.
- Assist with the scheduling of opponents.
- Coordinate all team travel for women's soccer.
- Serve as Head Coach for women's soccer junior varsity program.
- Abide by the policies, regulations, and rules of the NCAA, conference, and Simpson College, including the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Coaches.
- Assist with the monitoring and enforcement of players' conformity to the Simpson College Code of Ethics for Student-Athletes.
- Coordinate all activities for the SC Women's Soccer Camps/Clinics
- Work with the strength and conditioning coaching staff to develop strength and conditioning programs for women's soccer student-athletes.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head Coach or Director of Athletics.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry: Bachelor's Degree required. 2 years of coaching experience at the HS/age equivalent level and/or collegiate playing experience. Collegiate coaching experience preferred. Skills, Abilities, Special Licenses or Certificates: Valid Driver's License, CPR Certification required. USSF or United Soccer Coaches License preferred.
