The appointee will be responsible for media liaison and support the Office in implementing media promotion and communication strategies to highlight the strengths and achievements of the University. He/She will be required to:
- Prepare media communication materials such as press invitations, press releases, line-to-take and scripts for media interviews
- Handle local, Mainland and international media relations duties
- Plan and organise press conferences, briefings and interviews, perform daily media monitoring and handle media enquiries
- Explore impactful research and interesting stories for media publicity
- Assist the manager in executing media relations plans and crisis management initiatives
- Coordinate and organise campus visits for the University’s key stakeholders
- Be required to work outside Hong Kong SAR for media and hospitality-related duties
- Support the Office in other aspects of work, including corporate communications, event management, marketing and other duties as assigned by the University
Requirements
- A good Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of post-qualification work experience in a supervisory role in journalism, corporate communication, and public relations
- An excellent command of written and verbal English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua
- Strong media network with solid experience in handling Hong Kong SAR, Mainland and international media, with a track record in reporter pitching and media relations
- Ability to compile and leverage AI tools to deliver impactful news stories independently and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and organisational skills
- Detail-oriented, dedicated and self-motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Flexible and willing to work outside office hours
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits and mandatory provident fund, and gratuity.
