Assistant Dean for COMLS Office of Student Affairs
The Assistant Dean provides senior leadership for the Health Science Campus and the University as a whole across a broad spectrum of responsibilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Academic Advisor for ~ 700 medical students
- Career Counseling and Advising, including Medical Specialty Decision-Making, Curriculum Vitae and Personal Statement Guidance and Review, Program Selection, and Interviewing Skills
- Medical Student Performance Evaluations for senior medical students
- Orientation for incoming medical students
- Co-Advisor, Gold Humanism Honor Society
- Co-Advisor, Alpha Omega Alpha
- Medical Student Awards Committee
- Graduation Committee
- Summer Internship/Preceptorship Programs
Minimum Qualifications:
- M.D./D.O. or Ph.D. degree required
- Recent higher education administrative experience working with students.
- Knowledge of higher education and its practices and procedures.
