Assistant Dean of Students & Director of Disability Access Services

Oregon State University's Office of the Dean of Students is seeking an Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Disability Access Services. This is a full-time, 12-month, professional faculty position.

The Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Disability Access Services (ADD-DAS), reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, is responsible for the comprehensive leadership of the office and programs of Disability Access Services (DAS).

DAS is dedicated to ensuring equitable access to higher education and equal opportunity for disabled students. In alignment with Oregon State University’s mission, DAS supports a historically underrepresented population by facilitating access and coordinating reasonable and legally mandated accommodations based on documented disabilities. As part of the Office of the Dean of Students, DAS embraces and promotes the principles of universal design to foster an inclusive campus environment where all can participate.

The ADD-DAS provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, and administrative oversight for Disability Access Services, ensuring compliance with the ADA, Rehabilitation Act, and all relevant legislation. This dual-role position is responsible for ensuring equitable access and inclusive support for disabled students, while also contributing to the broader mission of supporting student success and well-being within the Office of the Dean of Students and Division of Student Affairs.

The ADD-DAS leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs that support student learning and success. The ADD-DAS works closely with campus partners and collaborates on assuring program activities and operations meet accessibility standards and offer a barrier-free experience as much as possible to all, including disabled persons.

The ADD-DAS is responsible for overseeing and coordinating a range of services, programs, resources, and procedures that support disabled students. This includes identifying student needs, interpreting relevant requirements, and ensuring appropriate accommodations are provided without compromising academic standards or requiring significant changes to academic programs. The ADD-DAS fosters collaboration among students, faculty, and staff to promote an inclusive and supportive campus environment to cultivate a sense of belonging.

The ADD-DAS manages the office’s budget, funding allocations, and record-keeping processes. The ADD-DAS oversees the delivery of direct services to students and makes referrals to other campus or community resources in alignment with university policies and procedures.
