Optimizing our enrollment mix is crucial to the long-term viability of IU Indianapolis. There are several factors that influence a student's college choice, persistence, graduation and success. The Division of Enrollment Management is comprised of over 100 full-time staff in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, Office of the Registrar, Office for Veterans and Military personnel, as well as other areas supporting student enrollment. The Division also oversees and provides insight for its enrollment operations for the Fort Wayne and Columbus campuses.
The Division is looking for individuals who value and embrace innovation, change and entrepreneurial mindsets and approaches in advancing the mission of IU Indianapolis.
Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Counsels prospective students and their families about IU Indianapolis and the admissions process.
- Manages frontline operations in the Office of Admissions which includes the front desk, email account and phone room.
- Works collaboratively with the Campus Visits and Events and Recruitment teams to ensure positive on campus experience for prospective students and guests.
- Manages 5 full time employees and provides professional development resources and opportunities.
- Manages the transcript request process for transfer students.
- Serves as primary Dialpad phone system contact for admissions
- Maintains regular data and reporting as it relates to frontline metrics
- Oversees inventory and inbound and outbound mail processes.
General Responsibilities
- Provides day-to-day operational management of admissions and recruitment staff.
- Establishes short-term operational objectives.
- Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.
- Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.
- Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.
- Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.
- Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve admissions and recruitment operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.
- Researches and stays up to date on new industry admissions and recruitment standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.
Qualifications
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Work experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted for education.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in business, public policy, or related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 2 years in admissions, enrollment management, higher education student affairs, business, or related field.
