Job Summary:
The Crummer Graduate School of Business is seeking an Assistant Director of Career and Leadership Development to join their Student Success team! The Assistant Director leads and coordinates various career and leadership student initiatives with a focus on decision-making, academic planning, the development of and articulation of career competencies, and connections with industry opportunities primarily for the Early Advantage and Accelerated MBA Cohorts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Teach one or more sections for the MBA Career Strategies I course
- Assist in coordinating guest speakers, symposiums, speakers series, employer panel presentations and targeted career fairs and networking events.
- Work collaboratively, and meet regularly, with faculty, staff, alumni, students/student organizations to exchange ideas, assess and market programs and provide data on leadership and career development trends and outcomes.
- Provide 1:1 and group advising for career and leadership development, as well as for electives and concentrations to Early Advantage (EA) and Accelerated MBA Cohorts.
- Lead the annual awards ceremony.
- Under the direction of Sr. Associate Director, support research on local, regional, and national hiring practices, employment trends, and other labor-related issues.
- Assist in the development of career and employer outreach programming, workshops, relevant resources, career planning handouts and publications.
- Oversee and manage the Internship program for EA and A cohorts.
- Develop and maintain internship process, meeting with employers and tracking related documentation and assignments.
- Manage and host at least one Crummer-specific career workshop and networking event each semester.
Minimum Qualifications & Education:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
- Work experience in hiring and/or recruiting, or comparable experience.
- Experience creating programming tailored for the career and leadership development needs of a domestic and international population.
- Possess a valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in business, higher education, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Agile approach to on-the-spot service delivery to meet student needs.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the current trends in job search career strategies, preparation, tools, and technology.
- Experience with project management, strong organizational work skills and experience defining tasks & prioritizing assignments.
- Demonstrated program management experience from ideation to execution; tracking and data collection for continuous improvement of career center programming.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience working with data and generating reports.
- Possess a strategic-mindset and understand importance of the student-alumni lifecycle.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience to effectively communicate job search process, including career strategies, networking, resume development, interviewing.
- Strong technical competencies and demonstrated experience using recruitment software and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams).
- Exercise sound judgment and decision-making by ensuring interpretation and communication of policies and procedures are consistent and accurate.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment:
Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in an office environment. Regular use of a computer and databases. Must be able to work flexible hours, which include evenings and weekends, based on business needs.
