Florida A&M University is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Assistant Director, Equal Opportunity Programs vacancy.
Requirements
Assist, plan, and implement equity programs and ensures compliance with Florida Statutes and rules and regulations of the appropriate governing agencies. This incumbent will assist the Director for Equal Opportunity Programs/Labor Relations in planning and organizing equity programs; Assist, plan, and implement equity programs and ensures compliance with Florida Statutes and rules and regulations of the appropriate governing agencies; Complete and coordinate Affirmative Action Plans with external stakeholders for the University and develop the Equity Accountability Report; and investigate complaint of discrimination and harassment as directed by the supervisor.
During the course of investigations, this incumbent will collect and interpret data, including materials of a confidential nature; Attend meetings in the absence of the Director; Assist in the development of workshops and conducts training programs for the University community as it relates to equity and ADA issues; Interpret equity policies on a daily basis for students, employees and visitors; Make presentations to University Search Committees in regards to equity issues; Serve as a member of University-wide committees when appointed by the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer or University President/designee; Assist the Director as needed with special assignments; and perform other related duties as necessary, including answering the telephone, organizing office mail, and drafting and sending letters associated with equity complaints.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and four years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience.

Ability to write well and in an effective manner;
Knowledge of sound investigatory skills and ability to perform those skills;
Knowledge of University policies and procedures; and,
Ability to apply University regulations, policies and procedures in daily work routine.
Administrative and Professional and A&P Executive Service (A&P EX) positions are considered contractual. Terms and conditions are generally recognized by contract for a specific period of time or contracts renewed on an annual basis. Certain benefits, amount of leave, and notification of termination are exclusive to the pay plan.
In accordance with Florida Statute 112.219, relevant work experience may substitute for the required education: 4 years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's, or 6 years in lieu of a Master's.
