families receive the highest level of expertise, sensitivity, and problem solving during each interaction with OFA. Advise prospective and admitted students, parents, and currently enrolled students on a broad range of issues pertaining to the financial aid application process, University financial aid policies and procedures, and assist with resolving problems. Serve as an OFA liaison and primary school contact with one or more NYU schools or programs. Monitor, support, and contribute to a team that ensures compliance with all Title IV and institutional policies and procedures. Consult with various University offices (Admissions, Registrar, Bursar) to solve individual student issues and to understand, develop, or improve financial aid processing.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years relevant professional level experience in financial aid, student affairs, or closely related experience.
Preferred Experience: 3+ years experience with a Financial Aid Management System or Student Information System (such as PeopleSoft, Banner, PowerFAIDS, etc)
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Familiarity with financial aid management systems. Knowledge of institutional financial aid need analysis and federal/state financial aid programs. Ability to interpret and apply complex laws, policies and procedures. Familiarity with spreadsheet and database software applications.
