Primary Responsibilities The Assistant Director will: Serve as liaison with Lexis and Westlaw representatives Work with IT personnel on pertinent issues Assist faculty with online learning platforms including Canvas and TWEN Assist faculty with online dissemination of scholarly publications including via SSRN Teach Legal Research (a 2-credit graded course) Provide reference services to Chase students and faculty, NKU students and faculty, and public patrons Do occasional cataloging and maintain collection statistics; serve as a liaison with the main library on online catalog issues Participate in collection development decisions Manage the library’s online archive of Kentucky appellate briefs Serve on law school committees as assigned by the Dean of the College of Law Represent the Library and/or College of Law in the greater university and in the profession as appropriate. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean for Law Library Services. Qualifications Juris Doctorate from an ABA accredited law school (required) Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution (strongly preferred) Strong academic record Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively Excellent communication skills Legal reference experience and familiarity with the LibGuides platform are preferred.
