Job Description

Job Summary:

Manage assessment needs of the student body and the organization of educational, social and cultural activities.

Job Specific Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Operations at the Mignone Center for Career Success (MCS). Work independently and collaboratively with the Employer Engagement Team, providing a breadth of services to encourage and support employer engagement and connection with students from Harvard College, Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts & Sciences, and Harvard Extension School degree-granting programs. Within the larger Employer Engagement team, focus on outreach to new employers to increase opportunities for Harvard students, including growing job and internship postings, employer career fair participation, etc. Office-wide, oversee MCS’s Symplicity career services management platform, Crimson Careers, as well as other vendor platforms and resources.

  • Lead employer outreach efforts to ensure robust employer engagement across desired industry areas with opportunities for multiple student populations.
  • Follow entry-level hiring trends, including maintaining information on top internship and early talent programs, and communicate with leadership team and relevant advising units.
  • Draft and curate employer-related content for regular newsletters, uConnect website, and social media.
  • Track and communicate success metrics. Provide data and analysis for regular and ad hoc reporting.
  • Support the Employer Engagement Team in all functions of employer relations and engagement, including career fairs, presentations, interviews, etc.
  • Develop and offer a menu of revenue-generating options for employers to engage on campus, monitoring employment trends and soliciting employer feedback to inform programming and advising.
  • Supervise 2.0 FTEs, the Events and Reception Staff Assistant and the MCS Program Coordinator (pending), as well as temporary staff and student workers.
  • Oversee Crimson Careers, the MCS Symplicity Career Services Management software platform that is central to all operations, including advising, programming, career fairs, job and internship postings, employer events, employer outreach, and campus interviews.
  • Oversee MCS use and adoption of additional vendor technologies and resources, including uConnect, 12Twenty, Interstride, Big Interview, Skills Discovery, and Firsthand Advisors.
  • Participate in full range of office-wide events including employer visits, career fairs, open houses, professional development workshops and university-wide meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting using near vision use for reading and computer use for extended periods of time
  • Lifting (approximately 20 to 30 pounds), bending, and other physical exertion

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience in employer relations, preferably within a university career services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to remain composed, adaptable, and effective during high-volume and fast-paced recruiting periods.
  • Strong outreach, relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting challenging deadlines and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and managing complex administrative processes and systems.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with database management systems, CRM platforms, and recruiting software.
  • Strong supervisory and team leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional hours outside the standard workday to support office operations and events.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, service-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

  • Other Information: The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs and objectives and consistent with College Policy, which requires 5 days on-site in Cambridge, MA during term time (first day of classes through commencement), with the exception of student breaks. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details about the College policy will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
