Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Faculty and Staff Initiatives supports the implementation and coordination of professional learning and engagement opportunities for faculty and staff within the Office of Academic and Community Engagement. Reporting to the Associate Director of Academic Engagement, this position plays a key role in executing university-wide faculty and staff engagement initiatives led by the Office, including a structured certificate program and unit-specific professional development offerings.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and professional development practices used to design effective learning experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate engaging workshops and training sessions that promote dialogue, reflection, and applied learning.
- Strong project management and organizational skills to coordinate multiple programs, logistics, and timelines.
- Ability to design and implement program evaluation processes, including collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data to inform continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse campus units.
- Ability to supervise and mentor staff, including task delegation, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Ability to apply data-informed insights to enhance program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
Duties/Responsibilities
University-Wide Certificate Program Management (45%)
Lead coordination and day-to-day management of an open-enrollment, ongoing certificate program. Manage registration, communications, scheduling, and participant tracking. Serve as the primary facilitator for certificate program sessions.
Unit-Specific Workshops, Presentations, and Professional Development (20%)
Serve as a point of contact for academic and administrative units requesting professional development. Coordinate and facilitate customized workshops and presentations.
Supervision and Team Support (15%)
Supervise a Graduate Assistant supporting program coordination and logistics. Provide onboarding, training, task delegation, and performance feedback.
Assessment, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement (10%)
Design and implement processes for collecting program feedback. Maintain records, analyze data, and contribute to program reports.
Campus Collaboration and Office Support (10%)
Develop and maintain relationships with campus partners. Support coordination of office initiatives and projects.
