ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Enhance the effectiveness of faculty teaching by organizing, scheduling, and facilitating teaching development and support programing and other events throughout the year
- Provide one-on-one support to faculty members, furthering their efficacy in teaching, learning, and pedagogy. This work may be initiated by individual faculty, department Chairs, and/or Deans
- Create and maintain a clearinghouse for information about teaching at Emerson
- Lead the Teaching Hub Faculty Advisory Committee, which is responsible for faculty input into teaching support programing.
- Communicate about programming regarding teaching and pedagogical support with teaching support staff
- Gather and distribute faculty and teaching support resources and managing the Teaching Hub website
- Work with Library and Learning to solicit, edit, and publish teaching success stories
- Develop and implement teaching awards and celebrations, including creation of award standards and processes, managing award submission and review process, convening the awards committees, and developing teaching celebration events
- Communicate to faculty about Teaching Hub events and other teaching support opportunities
- Present orientation materials, faculty support and opportunities, and best practices for teaching and learning at events
- Convene "Let's Talk Teaching" sessions and other semi-formal faculty events and spaces for innovation
- Work to raise Emerson College's global profile as a center for excellence in teaching
- Collect, code, and analyze data on Teaching Hub programming and services; additionally, contribute data gathering, analysis, and reporting in support of the college's reaccreditation materials
- Hire and manage student employees as needed
- Manage the Teaching Hub budget in Workday
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's Degree in Film/Media Arts, Communication & Marketing, Writing & Publishing, Journalism or related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years higher education experience in teaching, training, faculty development, and program implementation required
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with designing and assessing teaching and learning practices, assignment and assessment guidelines, curriculum development, relevant pedagogy, and accessibility best practices for learning required.
