Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.
Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $70,304.00 Annually
Maximum: $72,800.00 Annually
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Director for Student Life & Student Leadership (SLL), the Assistant Director for SLL will provide support and resources to students through cocurricular activities, important communication tools, and benefit management. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to collaboratively manage student leadership information, processes, and resources. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to collaboratively develop, support, and promote student engagement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Individuals must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the assigned classification, with or without reasonable accommodation(s), using some other combination of skills and abilities. Necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities are as follows:
Knowledge of:
- Experience: Preferred 2-3 years’ experience working with web-based tools, web-content management, and professional writing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, student information databases (Banner preferred), and Canva or other design-related programs.
- Computer skills enabling employee to make changes in various web editing tools along with web-based forms.
- Create effective and useful documents in Microsoft suite, Google Documents, Google Forms and any other software program required for this position.
- Knowledge of video conferencing software including (but not limited to) Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Skill:
- Strong written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills that enable the employee to interact effectively with administration, faculty, staff, students, and guests.
Ability to:
- Demonstrate a commitment to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.
- Prioritize and successfully complete multiple duties while paying close attention to detail.
- Skilled in making decisions with sound judgment.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience:
- Required 2-3 years experience in student affairs related field preferably in serving graduate-level students.
