Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will play a key role in advancing the University’s strategic development in Chinese Mainland and will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Developing and implementing strategies to build capacity for Chinese Mainland research and related grants;
- Building and maintaining partnerships, collaborations and networks with key stakeholders of Chinese Mainland grants, including but not limited to funding bodies, higher education institutions, and research organisations;
- Driving new initiatives to engage relevant partners to generate grant applications, as well as research and knowledge transfer projects;
- Supporting applications and management of projects for Chinese Mainland grants;
- Planning and coordinating activities to promote Chinese Mainland funding opportunities;
- Coordinating and participating in activities and events organised by Chinese Mainland funding bodies and partner institutions;
- Supporting the processing of agreements related to Chinese Mainland projects;
- Undertaking other related duties as assigned; and
- Travelling within the Chinese Mainland is required.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A recognised degree with normally at least 15 years of full-time post-qualification work experience in higher education;
- Substantial knowledge and experience in working with Chinese Mainland’s organisations, grant schemes, processes and related regulations;
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and a strong sense of responsibility;
- Excellent command of spoken and written Chinese (including Putonghua) and English;
- Strong proficiency in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; and
- High level of independence, initiative and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.
Candidates may be invited to attend a written test.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, a composite cash/housing allowance, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidate.
