Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement
Job Summary/Basic Function
About the position: The Assistant Director for Alumni Engagement supports the engagement of our alumni constituents in the traditions and transformation of our campus, ensuring alumni remain lifelong supporters and advocates of the University. This role is responsible for assisting the Millersville University Alumni Association (MUAA) while overseeing, leading, and developing our alumni volunteers. Additionally, the Assistant Director will work closely with several Reunion classes, supporting class volunteers, fostering class engagement, and coordinating alumni class event efforts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Day-to-Day Operations: Assist with day-to-day operations of the Office of Alumni Engagement by communicating through email, phone, handwritten mail, and in-person with alumni and friends. Interactions tracked in Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Student Staff Supervision: Supervise and support student staff including the Graduate Assistant.
- Alumni Association Assistance: Manage and support the MUAA in an ex officio role.
- Tradition and Transformation Engagement: Oversee initiatives for alumni engagement including special events.
- Volunteer Leadership: Lead all alumni volunteers including outreach, onboarding, training, and development strategies to increase engagement by 10% annually.
- Reunion Class Committees: Manage at least eight Reunion Class Committees.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, Zoom; ability to learn Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to diversity.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree.
- 5+ years experience in alumni relations or related field.
- Experience with CRM systems.
