Position Purpose: Reporting to the Director, HCME Programs and Operations, the Student & Alumni Affairs Coordinator develops and manages events and other services for students and alumni of Health Care Management Education (HCME) programs with the goal of delighting our students and alumni and fostering a loyal, committed, engaged community.
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp: Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- 2-3 years’ experience in a professional setting, including event planning and event management.
- Proficiency in a broad array of technology and online tools, including social media and database software.
- Strong writing skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a diverse constituency.
- Ability to think creatively and strategically.
- Ability to work independently with initiative and excellent judgment, along with ability to work effectively as a collaborative team member to achieve shared goals and objectives.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required, to attend and manage Health Care Management Education events.
- Ability to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project Management training.
- Proficiency with web-site maintenance tools and programs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Dartmouth driver certification.

Description:
Event Management:
- Plans and manages events for students and alumni, including (for students) residential sessions, optional learning expeditions and trips, investiture, commencement, and (for alumni) on-line seminars, learning expeditions, the HCDS Symposium, and other gatherings, in partnership with program leadership.
- Manages registration and communications for events through the Encompass website, Canvas, email, and other channels.
- Collaborates with program leadership to develop and maintain academic calendars, residential schedules, and a calendar of co-curricular events.
- Attends events as needed.
Percentage Of Time: 80%
Description: Development and Communication:
- Supports the distribution of annual fund and class gift communications for the HCME degree programs.
- Tracks annual fund and class gift participation and produces gift acknowledgement letters.
- Collaborates with HCME colleagues to support the production and distribution of student and alumni newsletters.
Percentage Of Time: 10%
Description: Other Alumni & Student Services:
- Collaborates with Dartmouth Advancement to maintain the Encompass website.
- In partnership with colleagues, responds to the needs of the HCME students and alumni in ways that enhance the HCME learning experience and build community.
Percentage Of Time: 10%
