Position Summary:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Assistant Director of Development to join the Heersink School of Medicine development team. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Development, the incumbent will efficiently solicit and close a defined number of mid-level gifts (up to $25,000) within a specified timeframe in support of the Heersink School of Medicine general departments. There is the expectation that the Assistant Director of Development for the Heersink School of Medicine, general departments, will build and maintain a portfolio of mid-to-high net worth prospects and meet/exceed established metrics on an annual basis - including dollar, visit, solicitations, and proposals presented goals.
This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Development within the Heersink School of Medicine, representing leadership throughout the Heersink School of Medicine and Office of Advancement.
Position is full-time that may qualify for hybrid work schedule after the probationary period.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain a donor network of mid-to-high net worth prospects and establish a portfolio of individuals, including alumni, with the capacity to make mid-level/major gifts within general medicine areas and other assigned areas.
- Work closely with the Associate Vice President of Development for the general medicine areas to help build a pipeline of future mid and major donors for assigned units and projects.
- Execute fundraising strategies to raise mid-level gifts in support of the Heersink School of Medicine.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range:
$52,555 - $65,000
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for the education requirement.
After-hours work and travel required.
