Assistant Director of Employer Relations
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Assistant Director of Employer Relations supports the Center for Career Development by cultivating employer partnerships, coordinating career-related programming, and enhancing student access to experiential opportunities. This role contributes to the center's mission by leading employer outreach efforts, expanding opportunities for students, supporting data-informed decision-making, and collaborating with career pathway advisors to strengthen connections between students and industry partners.
Essential Functions:
- Employer Engagement & Relationship Management: Cultivates and maintains long-term relationships with employers to develop sustainable pipelines for student hiring for jobs and internships. Utilize Handshake to share and source opportunities for employer and student engagement. Works closely with the Director of Employer Relations to implement outreach strategies and manage employer records in platforms such as Handshake, Salesforce, and LinkedIn.
- Career Programming & Event Planning: Plans and executes career events, including career fairs, networking receptions, employer information sessions, and career treks. Coordinates logistics, promotes events, and ensures meaningful engagement between employers and the campus community.
- Data & Reporting: Manage data collection and reporting efforts to inform employer engagement strategies and student outcomes. Analyzes usage trends in Handshake and other platforms to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Collaboration for Student Preparation: Partners with career pathway advisors to provide supplemental support for students engaging in career readiness opportunities. Contributes to the development and delivery of preparation resources, information sessions, and communications that enhance student readiness and engagement.
- Winter Break Career Pathways Programs: Designs and implements winter break programming that may include employer site visits, job shadowing, and skill-building experiences. Promotes opportunities, facilitates student and alumni participation, and evaluates program outcomes.
