Assistant Director of Financial Aid Operations
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- The Assistant Director of Financial Aid operations is responsible for managing the financial aid systems functionality and integration required to award and disburse all forms of financial aid utilizing the Campus Solutions platform including, but not limited to: federal grants and loans, state grants and scholarships, institutional and private scholarships and grant derived scholarships.
- The Assistant Director works closely with platform supporting vendors and internal DolT personnel to ensure that all platforms are correctly awarding and disbursing aid as well as ensuring that all reconciliation processes are completed on an ongoing basis.
- This role also has the overall responsibility for identifying issues and challenges proactively and then working internally and externally to address the issues to ensure students do not face unnecessary challenges associated with the award and disbursement of aid.
- DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Management of SAP process.
- Supervision and direction of operations team.
- Monitor Jobs and Job sets.
- Daily management of financial aid award and disbursement system(s)
- Consistent review and validation of set-up used to award and disburse financial aid.
- First point-of-contact to ensure accurate and timely implementation of updated/upgraded CS releases and maintenance programs to the financial aid awarding system(s).
- Works collaboratively with external vendors and internal partners to identify and resolve all financial aid system/platform bugs.
- Ensures that reconciliation of all aid is completed on a consistent basis to ensure that all aid are timely disbursed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least two years of experience working in a post-secondary financial aid program.
- Experience with Peoplesoft, EdConnect, COD, ELM, MS Office and other reporting tools
- Experience with student lifecycle and financial aid practices
- Ability to understand technical specification documentation
- Ability to convert functional requirements into technical tasks
- Data analysis and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to juggle different assignments with competing priorities
- Strong oral and written skills are essential
- Self-starter, high energy and goal oriented
- Excellent organizational, communication, personal relationship and meeting management skills
- Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow-through and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
- May require evenings or weekend work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Project management experience preferred.
