Assistant Director of Online Learning
Overview
The Assistant Director of Online Learning guides the development of engaging online courses, promotes innovative practices in online learning, and oversees program development processes. This position collaborates with faculty and instructional designers on course reviews, manages data collection, and provides feedback for continuous improvement. The Assistant Director will possess expertise in online pedagogy, online learning design, and assessment practices, with a commitment to enhancing the learning experience for all students, regardless of modality.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in higher education, educational assessment, instructional design, educational technology or a related field.
- Three to five years working in online learning, quality assurance, assessment, or related areas within a higher education environment.
- Familiarity with quality assurance frameworks and standards in higher education and online learning.
- Demonstrated knowledge of online pedagogy, best practices in online course development and delivery, and assessment methodologies, including direct and indirect measures of student learning.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS).
- Experience conveying complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and administrators across departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in instructional design, instructional technology, higher education or a related field
- Familiarity with accreditation standards and processes in higher education (e.g., NECHE, NC-SARA, etc).
- Experience working with courses/programs at a Hispanic-Serving Institution
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and the ability to integrate these principles into online learning and quality assurance practices.
Working Location
This is a hybrid position in Salem, MA with on-campus, in-person responsibilities, which may require occasional work on evenings and weekends.
