Assistant Director of Student Engagement for Clubs and Orgs

The Assistant Director of Student Engagement for Clubs and Organizations provides vision, leadership, and management for a dynamic student engagement program through Clubs and Orgs designed to enhance student life and foster a vibrant campus community. This position oversees registered student clubs, organizations, and club sports; manages the campus-wide clubs and organizations calendar; and directly reports to the Assistant Dean of Students. The Assistant Director works collaboratively across campus to promote student involvement, leadership development, and a strong sense of belonging through Clubs and Orgs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight for all student clubs, organizations, and club sports, including training, development, and compliance with university policies.
- Develop and implement strategies to support student leaders and advisors in fostering inclusive and engaging student experiences.
- Manage the Clubs and Organization budget, ensuring responsible allocation of funds to support programs, events, and student organizations.
- Oversee the Clubs and Organizations calendar, coordinating programs and events to maximize student participation and minimize conflicts.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, encouraging involvement and leadership through co-curricular opportunities.
- Collaborate with campus partners (academic affairs, athletics, student services, etc.) to create and support programs that promote student learning, engagement, and retention.
- Assess the effectiveness of programs, services, and initiatives to ensure alignment with the university’s mission and student development goals.
- Maintain compliance with institutional policies, risk management procedures, and applicable regulations related to student clubs and club sports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 1-2 years of progressively responsible experience in student engagement, student activities, or related areas. Internships in student affairs offices. Leadership roles as an undergrad (Orientation Leader, Student Government). Event planning or campus programming experience. Volunteer work with student organizations
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
Strong organizational, communication, and budget management skills.
