Lead initiatives that strengthen the student-to-alumni pathway,
ensuring graduating students understand the value of lifelong
alumni connection, philanthropy, volunteerism, and continued
engagement with the institution after graduation.
Manage and strategically leverage the CampusESP Families Portal
as an engagement tool that reflects the institution’s commitment to
hospitality, transparency, and partnership with families throughout
the student lifecycle. Provide timely, relevant, and welcoming
information that helps families better understand, support, and
celebrate their student’s experience.
Collaborate across campus and within Development to identify
opportunities where alumni engagement, family communication, and
student experience initiatives can intersect to deepen connection,
build affinity, and foster long-term institutional loyalty.
Student Engagement:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for student engagement
and philanthropy.
- Create programs and initiatives that build alumni awareness and
connection among current students.
- Develop and support student leadership opportunities for alumni
engagement, such as the Student Alumni Representatives and
co-leading the Senior Class Gift Committee.
- Collaborate with Annual Giving and Development colleagues on
initiatives that promote philanthropic education and early alumni
participation.
Young Alumni Engagement:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for young alumni
engagement in partnership with the GOLD Task Force.
- Build engagement opportunities for young alumni, defined as
alumni within 10 years of graduation.
- Recruit and support young alumni volunteers for mentoring,
outreach, student engagement, and related initiatives.
- Partner with Career Development, Student Life, Athletics,
academic departments, graduate programs, and Seminary partners to
align engagement efforts with recent graduate needs.
- Track young alumni engagement activity, outcomes, and trends in
the CRM.
- Assess barriers to participation and recommend strategies to
strengthen young alumni connection and retention.
QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited
institution is required. Experience with increasing responsibility
in alumni relations, fundraising, or donor engagement, preferably
in a higher education or nonprofit setting, is preferred.
Experience must show a proven track record of success. Ability to
work in a self-directed fashion and to serve as a member of a
collaborative development team. Technology-savvy with an
understanding of database and management systems. At times, one
must have the ability to work outside the traditional
workday.
SKILLS: Requires superb written and verbal communication
skills, a high level of creativity and innovative thinking, and
excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with
staff at all levels, and the ability to represent Moravian
University with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Exceptional
attention to detail, grammar, spelling, and consideration for the
target audience using various formats (e.g. emails, letters, social
media, public speaking, etc.).
Ability to productively manage multiple responsibilities and
deadlines in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Ability to
prioritize, manage time efficiently, meet deadlines, and work
independently and collaboratively, meticulous attention to detail,
good listener with the ability to build rapport easily with
internal and external constituents, a team-oriented person with a
passion for education, excellent judgment, maturity, creativity,
flexibility, and a strong commitment to the mission and goals of
Moravian University.
