Description
The Assistant Director/Internship and Co-Op Coordinator supports
Hampton University students in identifying, securing, and
successfully completing internship and cooperative education
opportunities. The position serves as a primary resource for
students, employers, faculty, and academic departments regarding
experiential learning and career readiness.
Examples of Duties
- Coordinate and support the University’s internship and
cooperative education processes, including reviewing student
internship documentation and ensuring required information is
complete.
Advise students regarding internship and co-op opportunities,
career exploration, professional development, and experiential
learning.
Conduct individual and group resume reviews, mock interviews,
career coaching, and career readiness workshops.
Assist Career Center leadership with departmental initiatives,
assessment, reporting, special projects and other duties as
assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in career development, counseling, higher
education, psychology, human resources, education, business, or a
related field.
