Assistant Director, PACT
Job Summary:
The goal of the PACT program is to foster a positive, educational experience by working collaboratively with each student in developing and implementing an individualized plan for success. The Assistant Director of the PACT program is responsible to provide a variety of highly integrated services and programs to support academic success, student development, college transition, leadership and career development, in addition to managing a team of PACT Mentors.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary advisor and mentor for working caseload of students
- To prepare students for their transition to the college, and integrate new students into the intellectual, cultural, and social life of the University
- Provide academic advisement to each student, specifically through the progression of the initial registration upon acceptance to major/degree selection as it pertains to career interests and pursuits
- Collaborate and coordinate with University faculty, staff, and appropriate external organization to achieve program recruitment and retention goals and directly enhance the student experience
- Provide career exploration resources and advisement, resulting in a timely career track relative/paralleled to academic pursuits
- Assist in pre-enrollment and orientation activities reinforcing the importance of a collective, integrated college experience geared toward academic and career success
- Hire, train, and manage staff performance
- Any other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of three years of appropriately related experience required. Experience in student services and advisement will be given preference
- Minimum of two years supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to interpret career assessment instruments preferred
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal and administrative skills with the ability to work with a team of diverse professional staff and students
- Demonstrated detail orientation, ability to assess needs, plan, and implement new programs
- Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and cross-area collaboration skills are required
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications, web development, and knowledge of student database systems required
- Demonstrated familiarity with Banner and major program requirements required
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred
Physical/Other Requirements:
Candidate must be flexible as position does require occasional evening and/or weekend hours and may also require travel to other campuses. Must be able to push, pull, move or lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per college policies
