This role utilizes evidence informed and theory driven practices to foster a safe, inclusive environment for students in recovery, engages in assessment and strategic planning, and supports sustainability efforts including partnerships, development opportunities, and grant funding.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides counseling and services to individuals, couples, and/or groups as well as crisis intervention.
- Assists in the development and implementation of SCS programs, policies, and procedures, and the development of psychoeducational materials.
- Provides consultation to UAB faculty and staff on the appropriate handling of student mental health concerns.
- Maintains relationships with other departments within UAB and the professional community.
- Participates in on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies and Critical Incident debriefings.
- Supervises staff and /or trainees.
- Manages special projects as assigned by the Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range:
$43,890 - $71,320
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work or a related field and six (6) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Preferences:
Related experience includes: clinical counseling in community, college, or university settings; leadership or coordination of recovery support programs; student mental health program development; supervision of staff or trainees; campus outreach and education; crisis response; and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.
Related degree fields may include: Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, and Marriage & Family Therapy.
Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
Currently licensed as a(n) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling (ABEC) OR currently licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Marriage and Family Therapy OR currently licensed as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners required.
