Job Summary
The Assistant
Director of Student Life Operations provides operational,
technical, and administrative leadership for Husky Card Services,
Residential Security, and Student Life technology systems to
support a safe, secure, and student-centered campus environment.
This position is responsible for the administration of campus
credentialing, electronic access control systems, residential
security technologies, meal plan administration and reconciliation,
and customer service operations related to campus identification
and access services. The Assistant Director oversees the integrity
of meal plan assignments, resolves account discrepancies, partners
with Dining Services to ensure accurate billing and reconciliation,
and delivers a seamless customer experience for students, faculty,
staff, and guests. The position is also responsible for
implementing operational improvements, supporting enterprise
technology initiatives, and managing system integrations that
enhance security, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen
the student experience. Working collaboratively with Housing and
Residential Life, Public Safety, Information Technology Services,
Facilities, Dining Services, Enrollment Management, and other
Student Life departments, the Assistant Director ensures the
effective operation of campus access and credentialing systems
while maintaining critical security infrastructure and supporting
the University's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities &
Accountabilities
Husky Card Services
Administration
Oversee the
daily operations of Husky Card Services, including the issuance,
replacement, and lifecycle management of university identification
credentials.
Administer
campus credentialing and electronic access permissions for
students, faculty, staff, affiliates, and guests.
Maintain the
integrity of campus cardholder databases while ensuring compliance
with University policies and applicable privacy regulations.
Coordinate
with Housing, Public Safety, Dining Services, Athletics, Libraries,
and other campus partners to support access privileges across
university facilities.
Administer
electronic access control systems by assigning, modifying,
auditing, and removing building access permissions.
Partner with
Dining Services to support point-of-sale technologies, troubleshoot
meal plan access issues, and coordinate operational
improvements.
Manage meal
plan administration, reconciliation, and account corrections to
ensure accurate student billing and exceptional customer
service.
Develop and
manage communications, website content, social media, and service
notifications related to Husky Card Services.
Residential Security and Access
Operations
Support the
administration of residential security technologies that promote a
safe and secure living environment.
Coordinate
with Residential Security, Housing and Residential Life, Public
Safety, and Facilities to ensure reliable operation of electronic
access systems.
Provide
operational oversight for electronic locking systems, access
control hardware, surveillance technologies, and related security
infrastructure.
Monitor
system performance, investigate access issues, and coordinate
timely resolution of security-related incidents.
Conduct
routine security audits, access reviews, and operational
assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend
improvements.
Assist in
planning and implementing security enhancements, technology
upgrades, and new residential access initiatives.
Operational Leadership and Customer
Service
Serve as the
primary operational resource for Husky Card Services, Residential
Security, meal plan administration, and related technology
services.
Deliver
exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries through
walk-in service, telephone, email, and ServiceNow.
Resolve
complex account issues involving campus credentials, access
permissions, meal plans, billing reconciliation, and technology
systems.
Collaborate
with functional and technical stakeholders to gather operational
requirements and translate business needs into system enhancements
and project plans.
Lead
operational improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery,
automate business processes, and improve data quality.
Develop and
maintain operational documentation, training materials, knowledge
base articles, and standard operating procedures.
Support
project management activities, reporting requirements, system
testing, and implementation of new technologies.
Student Life
Technology Support (10%)
Provide
technical support for Student Life technology resources, including
desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, point-of-sale
equipment, kiosks, and other hardware.
Support
software applications utilized throughout Student Life departments,
including installation, troubleshooting, upgrades, permissions
management, and lifecycle support.
Deliver
in-person, remote, and telephone technical support while
coordinating with Information Technology Services and external
vendors when necessary.
Assist with
technology deployments, hardware replacements, imaging, backups,
inventory management, and operational documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's
degree required or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.
Three to five
years of progressively responsible professional experience in
higher education, student affairs, campus operations, technology
services, access control, or a related field.
Working
knowledge of electronic access control systems, scheduling
software, Microsoft Office 365, and customer service management
platforms.
Experience
supporting residential life operations, student services, or
comparable customer-facing environments preferred.
Demonstrated
ability to collaborate across departments while managing multiple
priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong
organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving
skills.
Mechanical
aptitude and the ability to support technology hardware
installations.
Expected Hiring Range:
$58,975.00 -
$75,000.00
With the pay range(s) shown above, the
starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include
your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and
skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees
already in the role. Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are
subject to change
