In partnership with another career consultant in the CPDC, the Assistant Director/Career Consultant will focus on career development initiatives for undergraduate and graduate students within the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences. This person will act as primary CPDC liaison for various departments within the College, and provide additional consulting support where needed in other programs. All consultants coach and advise students on career planning strategies using the CPDC’s Assess-Brand-Connect Career Learning Outcomes framework.

Core responsibilities include:

• Assisting undergraduates and graduate students in assessing their career and professional development goals, building job search strategies, developing marketing materials, and practicing interviewing skills, etc. based on the CPDC Assess/Brand/Connect learning outcomes model
• Creating, organizing and presenting career-related programs, workshops, career fairs and online learning content
• Cultivating potential and developing existing relationships with employers to understand industry trends and recruiting needs
• Building and growing positive relationships with department heads, academic advisors, and faculty. Communicating openly and frequently with these partners
• Some travel may also be required for career treks and employer engagement
• Tracking internship and first-destination outcomes with high attention to detail and accountability
• Other duties as assigned
