Assistant Distance Coach
Position Summary
Assist head coach with highly competitive, Division I Track & Field Program in the SEC; assist with administration as it relates to recruiting, budgets, traveling, public relations, fund-raising camps and clinics; organizing and conducting practices and competitions, administering and promoting all phases of the Track & Field Program. Incumbent will also be responsible for an array of team duties, events, travel arrangements, external logistics, and creative services pertaining to the sport of Track and Field and Cross Country.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist Associate Head Cross Country Coach in evaluating and recruiting qualified student-athletes to the University of Georgia whose athletic and personal skills make them highly competitive in the SEC and nationally, and whose academic potential makes them good candidates for a meaningful academic experience and graduation at the University of Georgia; coordinating recruiting travel and visit itineraries. (60%)
- Assist in conducting and evaluating all practice sessions for training groups as assigned. (25%)
- Serve as a Track & Field staff meet director for all home meets. Assist with away meet requirements and fund-raising events. (10%)
- Other duties as assigned. (5%)
