Assistant Electrician-U

Job Overview

Under close supervision from designated supervisor, assist in performing basic electrical work. Assist with installation, repair and preventive maintenance of electrical or telecommunications equipment. This will be a first shift schedule from 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday - Friday.

Essential Functions

• Install and replace lighting fixtures, light bulbs, balasts, switches & fuses, assist in installation, repair & preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and assists in analyzing electrical equipment for safety.
• Perform minor custodial and/or general maintenance/laborer duties (e.g., assist in plumbing, carpentry, painting, groundskeeping, etc.).
• Maintain housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area.
• Assist with wiring, cabling, installing, repair and/or modifications of telecommunications equipment.
• May perform minor general maintenance/laborer duties.
• Maintain housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area.

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED

Required Trainings/Certifications

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Required Experience

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers

Ability to read and write
