Assistant Equestrian Coach
Position Purpose
To assist the head coach in planning, coaching, recruiting, administering, and promoting the equestrian program within the NCAA, NCEA, Ivy League, and institutional standards.
Coaching/Mentoring
- Assists head coach in conducting team practices, training, conditioning, and competitions.
- Prepares horses and arena for practices. Teaches equitation skills to student-athletes.
- Demonstrates a sincere interest in the academic, personal, and physical welfare of each student-athlete.
Horsemanship
- Assists caring for the horses with meticulous attention to detail, including but not limited to feeding, turnout, equine first aid, cleaning stalls and maintaining care of tack and equipment.
Recruiting
- Assists head coach in developing and implementing an overall recruiting plan.
Administration
- Knows and complies with the rules and regulations of the NCAA and Ivy League.
- Assists the head coach in planning and administering the budget.
