1. Candidate requirements:
- A Master's degree (M.Sc. or M.Sc. Eng.) in Computer Science and/or Management, or in a related field, or an equivalent foreign degree in Computer Science and/or Management or a related discipline recognised in the Republic of Poland as equivalent to the corresponding Polish degree and professional title in accordance with the applicable regulations;
- Completion of studies with a specialisation or curriculum covering web technologies, cybersecurity and/or artificial intelligence, documented by a diploma, diploma supplement or another document confirming the study programme, will be considered an additional advantage;
- Experience in preparing and delivering university-level courses in Computer Science;
- Experience in teaching programming methods and programming languages and/or cybersecurity will be considered an additional advantage;
- Experience in teaching management-related courses will be considered an additional advantage;
- Participation in research, research and development, or educational projects, particularly international projects, will be considered an additional advantage;
- Proficiency in Python, C/C++, Java, HTML/CSS;
- Knowledge of computer network administration will be considered an additional advantage;
- English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2, enabling the preparation of scientific publications and the delivery of teaching in English;
- Fluent proficiency in Polish at a level sufficient to teach classes.
2. Employment conditions:
- Full-time employment;
- The selected candidate will be employed for a period of three years, with the prospect of extension to an indefinite-term contract;
- Expected employment start date: 1 October 2026;
- Salary: from 6,200 PLN (the final salary will be determined based on the candidate's experience, length of service and qualifications).
3. Description of the expected scope of duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate selected through this recruitment process will participate in research activities in the areas of web technologies, cybersecurity, and project management carried out at the Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems (I25). The candidate will also deliver teaching activities in Computer Science and related programmes in both Polish and English.
The scope of duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- planning and conducting research;
- preparing scientific publications and/or educational course materials;
- presenting research results at national and international conferences;
- conducting laboratory classes and project-based courses, including courses in programming methods and programming languages as well as management;
- supervising student projects;
- participating in educational projects carried out by the Institute;
- contributing to the preparation of applications for educational project funding;
- providing support for the configuration and modernisation of the Institute's computer network;
- participating in organisational activities for the benefit of the Institute, the Faculty, and the University;
- continuously improving scientific and teaching qualifications.

8. Description of the profile of the recruiting organisational unit:
The Institute of Mechatronics and Information Systems is a unit of the Faculty of Electrical, Electronic, Computer and Control Engineering of Lodz University of Technology. It conducts interdisciplinary research, teaching and implementation activities at the intersection of computer science, mechatronics and electrical engineering. The Institute's profile originates from its long-standing tradition of research on electrical machines and transformers and has subsequently expanded to include computer-aided modelling and design methods, information systems, data analysis, artificial intelligence and immersive technologies.
The Institute has modern research infrastructure, including laboratories for electromagnetism, electromagnetic compatibility, vibroacoustics, electrical machines and transformers, VR/AR technologies, database systems, environmental electro-technologies, plasma synthesis of nanomaterials and microscopy. The Institute cooperates with industrial partners, medical institutions and research centres, and participates in national and international research, research and development, and educational projects.
9. Description of the main research areas conducted at the Institute:
- Data analysis and processing, machine learning, artificial intelligence methods, large language models, database systems, and the design of secure platforms for collecting, integrating and sharing large datasets, including medical and biomedical data;
- Design and evaluation of systems using virtual, augmented and mixed reality, with particular emphasis on medical, educational and therapeutic applications, human-computer interaction, user behaviour analysis, and evaluation of application effectiveness based on biomedical and physiological data;
- Modelling, simulation, optimisation, design and diagnostics of electrical machines, transformers, instrument transformers and mechatronic systems, including analysis of electromagnetic fields, losses, thermal and vibroacoustic phenomena, as well as research on electromagnetic compatibility and power quality.
