The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, with the consent of the Rector of the University of Warsaw, announces a competition for the position of senior assistant.

Skills/Qualifications
- Holding a doctoral degree in the discipline of social communication and media sciences;
- Research interests in the areas of social media, audiovisual media, and digital platforms with a particular focus on recommendation systems and content personalization demonstrated through completed research projects;
- Teaching experience (minimum 5 years) in conducting academic courses related to social media and media systems in Europe;
- Participation in at least two national and/or international research projects as a member of a research team;
- Documented academic track record comprising at least one scholarly publication in a peer-reviewed journal;
- Conference-related experience confirmed by references in organizing and/or co-organizing national and international academic conferences, including chairing and/or co-chairing such events;
- Experience in preparing reports and analyses for international research projects;
- Fluent command of Polish, both spoken and written.
In addition, we expect
- Experience in organizational activities for a research institution and in the field of science popularization.
- Professional experience outside academia – knowledge of the operations of modern media organizations is particularly valued, backed by several years of professional experience in large media organizations, with a particular emphasis on journalistic practice.
- English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2, confirmed by a certificate.
- Other achievements, such as reviewing or editing texts for scientific journals.
Specific Requirements
- Compliance with the requirements specified in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571, consolidated text).
- If hired, we expect the University of Warsaw to be the primary workplace for the successful candidate.

Eligibility criteria
- Fulfillment of formal conditions.
- Scientific potential (0-40 points)
- Participation in research projects (0-10 points);
- Independently conducted research in the field of crisis management or media relations (0-10 points);
- Number of published scientific articles (0-10 points);
- Types of journals in which the candidate's scientific articles have been published (0-10 points);
- Teaching experience (0-40 points)
- Thematic relevance of the classes taught to those of the Department where the position will be held (0-10 points);
- Number of hours of teaching conducted to date (0-10 points);
- Preparation of original teaching materials for academic classes conducted to date (0-10 points);
- Supervision and/or reviewing of theses (0-10 points).
- Organizational experience (0-20 points):
- organizing scientific conferences (0-5 points);
- promoting research projects (0-5 points);
- serving on committees related to academic work (0-5 points);
- other organizational experience (0-5 points).
Selection process
The competition consists of the following stages:
Stage I - formal evaluation of documents,
Stage II - substantive evaluation on the basis of submitted documents,
Stage III - interview with selected candidates,
Stage IV - final evaluation of competence, experience and scientific achievements,
Stage V - adjudication of the competition and announcement of results.
