Assistant Manager, Communications (1-year renewable contract)

Job Description

The NUS Academy for Healthy Longevity is seeking a creative and strategic Assistant Manager to drive integrated communications and marketing for its clinical research trials, education programmes, public outreach, and annual conference initiatives.

This full-time role translates scientific evidence into accessible, audience-appropriate content and strengthens the Academy’s visibility across digital, media, and stakeholder channels. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting clinical trial participant recruitment, programme enrolment, and broader engagement with partners, participants, students, alumni, donors, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

Communications and marketing strategy

  • Develop and execute integrated communications plans for education programmes and clinical trials to drive awareness, enrolment, and participant recruitment
  • Ensure messaging is evidence-based, audience-appropriate, and consistent across channels

Digital platforms and content creation

  • Manage the NUS Academy websites, including the main site, annual conference site, and consortia pages
  • Develop SEO-optimised, multi-format content to improve visibility and reach
  • Ensure all website content is current, accurate, and aligned with NUS Academy identity

Social media and audience engagement

  • Grow social media channels across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Translate research into accessible posts, infographics, and short-form video content
  • Lead event campaigns to build audience, disseminate findings, and strengthen the Academy’s public profile

Media engagement and publicity

  • Support media engagement for the Academy and its leadership
  • Coordinate media requests and prepare press materials
  • Identify profile-building opportunities to amplify research impact

CRM and stakeholder communications

  • Manage the Academy’s CRM database
  • Develop segmented email campaigns and targeted outreach
  • Maintain timely, meaningful engagement across key stakeholder groups

Administrative and team support

  • Provide administrative and operational support to communications activities
  • Help maintain content workflows, asset libraries, and team processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Public Health, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in communications, science writing, digital engagement, or related roles in academic, clinical, or research environments
  • Strong skills in content creation across visual, written, and video formats
  • Experience in website management (CMS platforms, SEO, analytics tools) and familiarity with CRM systems and email outreach platforms
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating diverse skills in video editing, graphic design, and professional copywriting (mandatory)
  • Ability to translate complex scientific evidence into accessible, audience-appropriate content
  • Strong motivation, initiative, and ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
  • Interest in the field of healthy longevity
  • Design: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite; Video Editing: Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut; Prototyping: Figma (working knowledge)
  • Website Development: Durable, Framer; CRM & Email Marketing: Mailchimp
