Assistant Manager / Manager, Centre for the Arts, Office of Student Affairs

Job Purpose

At the Office of Student Affairs, Centre for the Arts, we are dedicated to creating a campus environment where every student will have an opportunity to engage with the arts in meaningful and diverse ways. This role focuses on student development by managing student arts groups and supporting campus programming and production to foster growth in interdisciplinary and collaborative programmes. This role also aims to strengthen awareness of CFA and increase visibility of our student life programmes by developing strategic marketing and publicity initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To manage student arts group (e.g. band, theatre and production) by;
  • overseeing their day-to-day administration, rehearsals, meetings and workshops, performing planning, financial and production management;
  • managing annual exercises such as elections of the student leadership, and providing support for their annual budget & work plan;
  • liaising with the groups' tutors to achieve intended artistic outcomes; and
  • supporting CFA community engagement, student recruitment and outreach activities.
  • To support CFA’s engagement with the NUS arts community in a systematic way by supporting collaborative opportunities to grow interest in the arts on campus. This includes;
  • overseeing the management, programming and production support of third space (a performance platform) and the newly renovated Performance Studio; and
  • supporting and providing administrative, programming and production support for other performance platforms such as Supernova, the NUS Arts Festival, and any other standalone Office of Student Affairs events when needed.
  • To support OSA Communications by being the main liaison point for all CFA marketing and publicity and to oversee the overall CFA marketing and publicity efforts.
  • To support the growth of interdisciplinary programmes and build partnerships within NUS and across educational institutions locally.

Qualifications

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree is required, such as from Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences, Arts Management and/or Production Management. A related degree or track record in managing concert operations is an advantage.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in student development in areas of artistic development, arts programming & production and event management of arts activities.
  • Strong interest and knowledge in arts programming and production is strongly preferred.
  • Strong interest in developing youth-driven interdisciplinary career in arts management and arts integration.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent administrative skills to be able to meet deadlines and deliver work of high quality as well as demonstrated commitment to work in a team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
