Assistant Manager
Job Description
The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic research administration team in Duke-NUS Medical School which works with various stakeholders including faculty members, senior management, interdisciplinary offices within the University and in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre. The candidate will support the management of functions including ensuring effective governance of research funding awarded to the School. Key responsibilities include:
- Manage external research funding awarded to Duke-NUS, ensuring proper governance and support the School’s competitiveness in securing grants.
- Oversee pre- and post-award administration for research grants and agreements in compliance with funder requirements and University policies.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to follow through on issues in a timely manner.
- Establish effective relationships with funders and be well versed in the grant framework and policies of various funders
- Manage, supervise and co-ordinate work of the team
- Ensure that the timelines of the team are met while maintaining high standards of work
- Develop and implement robust work processes, SOPs, and guidelines for efficient grant administration.
- Liaise with external funders and internal departments on grant-related matters, ensuring smooth coordination and issue resolution.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Degree in Biomedical Sciences or related field
- 4 to 6 years of experience in research administration, preferably with at least 1 year in a managerial related role.
- Able to priortise and multi-task with some supervisory role.
- Familiar with local funding policies, terms and conditions.
- Meticulous and well-organised.
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work well in teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel.
