Position Highlights
The Department of Family, Community and Preventive Medicine is hiring a director to support the Optimizing Residency Clinic Continuity in Arizona (ORCCA) Project. PRICLe PEaR (Primary Care Residency Learning Collaborative - Learning, Peer Education and Research) is the newly formed residency learning collaborative for the state of Arizona. PRICLe PEaR has received grant funding from the AAFP Foundation to fund the Optimizing Residency Clinic Continuity in Arizona (ORCCA) Project to help Arizona Family Medicine Residencies improve their patient and provider continuity. This role reports directly to the Principal Investigator (PI) of ORCCA grant. The successful candidate will act as the director of the project, with the support of the ORCCA coordinator, the co-chairs of PRICLe PEaR, and the PI on the grant. This position will include working with existing and new Family Medicine residencies across Arizona to implement evidence-based strategies to optimize continuity. The director will also monitor progress and success of these strategies to be reported back to PRICLe PEaR, the AAFP Foundation, as well as for dissemination/publication. The successful candidate will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in the department and must qualify for an appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Duties & Responsibilities
- Work directly with residency leaders across the state to understand their current continuity rates, barriers to continuity, and the evidence base for improving continuity in Family Medicine residencies.
- Help residencies to iteratively introduce and monitor strategies for improving continuity.
- Design and implement a research plan for resident clinic continuity as described in the grant plan.
- Assist with data collection and reporting for grant requirements.
- Present findings to other residency programs and the Learning Collaborative.
- Oversee the coordinator of the ORCCA grant in coordination with the PI.
Knowledge Skills, & Abilities
- Understanding of ACGME guidelines, specifically as they pertain to Residency Learning Networks/collaboratives.
- Use of Microsoft suite and Google software.
Minimum Qualifications
- Have an MD or DO or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Must be an active Family Medicine Core Faculty Member in an Arizona Family Medicine Residency Program which is a member of PRICLe PEaR.
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience working with PRICLe PEaR.
- Have experience with efforts to increase continuity in a Family Medicine residency clinic.
- Have experience supervising faculty and staff.
- Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal communication and professionalism skills.
