Assistant or Associate Professor in Transportation Engineering
The University of New Brunswick’s Department of Civil Engineering, in the Faculty of Engineering, Fredericton campus, invites applications for a tenure-track position in Transportation Engineering at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. This position has an anticipated start date of January 1, 2027, or soon thereafter as may be negotiated with the successful applicant. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. Review of applications will commence by August 4, 2026, and will continue until the position is filled.
The Department is seeking candidates with teaching and research experience and/or interest in one or more of the following areas: Transportation Geometric Design, Transportation Safety (including Road Safety Engineering), Traffic Engineering, Transportation Microsimulation, Transportation Data Analysis, Context Sensitive Design.
Applicants will be expected to have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a related field with evidence of, or demonstrated potential for, excellence in research and teaching and a commitment to an inclusive learning and working environment. Experience in engineering practice is also desirable, and the potential to collaborate with and complement other researchers in the Department or at the University will be considered an asset. Applicants must be eligible and willing to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of New Brunswick.
