Assistant or Associate Professor (Limited Term) or Associate or Full Professor (Continuing) in Urology - Transplantation
Position Profile
A Full-time Limited Term Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, or a Continuing Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor, depending upon experience and qualifications at the time of appointment.
The Division of Urology is affiliated with London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London. The Division of Urology is affiliated with London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London and is presently comprised of 14 surgeons with busy clinical practices ranging across all urological subspecialties. Many of members of the Division hold leadership positions across subspecialty urology organizations and the Division is highly regarded for its pioneering academic and clinical contributions to the field of Urology. The Division has a very strong Royal College accredited residency program and houses fellowship programs across oncology, pediatrics, transplantation, endourology, minimally invasive surgery, andrology and functional urology- many of which are accredited through their subspecialty organizations or through the Royal College.
Academic and Clinical Expectations
The successful candidate must have interest and clinical and surgical expertise in the management of complex patients requiring kidney and/or pancreas transplantation, minimally invasive surgery and robot assisted surgery. The candidate will also be responsible for coverage of transplant call as well as occasional city-wide urology call. The successful candidate must be interested in pursuing a strong academic career and have a proven track record of productivity consistent with their level of training and years of experience. The candidate will be expected to participate actively in the Division’s academic, research and education initiatives including teaching and supervision of undergraduate students, postgraduate students and clinical fellows.
Applicants considered at the rank of Associate or Full Professor must have demonstrated the ability to publish in the highest quality academic and subspecialty outlets and be a recognized expert in their field of research.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have an MD or equivalent; have completed an accredited urology training program; have advanced fellowship training in multi-organ transplantation; possess and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills; have a strong research interest and/or an advanced degree; and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.
Compensation Details
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be primarily composed of the following sources: Fee for service (OHIP billings), Alternative Funding Plan, academic salary, workers safety insurance board and on-call reimbursement.
