The Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice at Texas Christian University invites applications at the Assistant or Associate Professor ranks for a position beginning Fall 2026. The primary area of specialization sought is advanced quantitative methodologies; however, specializations in other areas will be considered. The Department seeks a faculty member who can teach a variety of courses and has strong classroom skills.

Preference will be given to candidates who will have completed a Ph.D. in Criminology and/or Criminal Justice and have demonstrated the capacity for excellence in the classroom. TCU is situated in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metropolitan area in close proximity to state, local, and federal justice agencies and institutions. The position carries a 3/2 teaching load and includes a competitive salary and benefits.

Department Details:

The TCU Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice has 12 full-time faculty members and about 300 undergraduate majors and 200 minors. The Department also houses an online master’s degree and a law enforcement leadership certificate program (LEAD) in which full-time faculty may be invited to teach as an overload. The Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice at TCU is a growing, active network of faculty, students, and community partners with strong research and service ties across the DFW Metroplex.

School/College Description:

Named for TCU’s founders, Addison and Randolph Clark, the AddRan College of Liberal Arts is home to the core academic disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. The College includes approximately 155 full-time faculty members, 13 departments (Comparative Race & Ethnic Studies, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, English, Geography, History, Modern Language Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Anthropology, Spanish and Hispanic Studies, and Women & Gender Studies), and two units of Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (Army and Air Force). AddRan College departments confer 17 Bachelor of Arts and 7 Bachelor of Science degrees, a Bachelor of General Studies, an online master’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, a Master of Liberal Arts degree, and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in History, English, and Rhetoric and Composition.
