The Department of Engineering at Westmont College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor for its new engineering major. Candidate must hold a PhD in engineering. The Westmont program grants a general engineering degree. The program is ABET accredited. The successful candidate will be asked to teach courses in areas such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and dynamics. Candidates should also have a desire for interdisciplinary collaboration and a track record of excellent and innovative teaching. This is a tenure-track position. The anticipated teaching load is 3 courses per semester with one possibly in May Term instead. Candidates with an active research program are desired. A regular professional presence in engineering consulting could also serve as scholarly activity. Anticipated Hiring Range
$84,787 - $92,487
The pay range posted for this job opening reflects what Westmont College reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, education, training, skill level, and market conditions.
