Essential Job Duties

1. Contribute to the training of veterinary students in Foundational Sciences (25 – 55%): Participate in the curricular activities for Year 1 and 2 students, including but not limited to content expertise in the various disciplines, facilitation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) activities, foundational science lectures & laboratories, veterinary issues discussions and presentations, and other ancillary activities as determined in the curriculum development process.
2. Pursue scholarly endeavors and professional self-development, with opportunities to engage in research, as negotiated (40 – 70%): Develop a self-sustaining research program. Participate in the development of post-DVM training programs. Participate in the research mentoring of veterinary students. Participate in local, national, and/or international continuing education programs.
3. Participate in college and university committees. Represent the college to external persons and agencies, including funding agencies (5%).

This position reports to the Dean. Academic activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; research activities are supervised by the Associate Dean for Research; and professional activities are supervised by the Executive Associate Dean.
