Assistant or Associate Professor of Philosophy
Brescia University seeks full-time faculty members whose teaching philosophy aligns with our mission and who are passionate
about high-quality teaching, student mentorship, and inclusive learning environments.
We are hiring a full-time, tenure-track
Assistant or Associate Professor of Philosophy, starting August 2027.
Experience and Education requirements:
- The qualified candidate will have earned a Ph. D. in Philosophy (preferred); Masters degree is required. Tenure-track
option only available to candidates with a terminal degree; - Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience -
including online teaching, and with training in contemporary pedagogy; - The University seeks candidates who have a passion for their
discipline and who can successfully invite students to engage in that same love of philosophy and "the big questions"; - Demonstrated
commitment to community engagement, academic advising, and collegial service.
Responsibilities include but are not
limited to:
- Teaching introduction and upper-division philosophy courses on-ground;
- Teaching introduction and
upper-division philosophy courses online; - Teaching courses for the university's diaconate program and Honors
College; - Overseeing student advising in the Philosophy minor;
- Serving on university committees and contributing to the
School of Humanities & Fine Arts and institution; - Upholding and advancing Brescia's mission to offer education of the whole person
through a commitment to academic excellence, service, and values-based leadership.
