ASSISTANT or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, Tenure-eligible / PSYCHOLOGY & COUNSELING/ UMKC School of Education, Social Work & Psychological Sciences
The Department of Psychology and Counseling at the University of Missouri-Kansas City invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, beginning Fall 2026. Candidates should have experience in integrative assessments and comprehensive psychological reports for children, adolescents, and/or young adults with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and learning disorders.
The successful candidate will develop assessment services at the in-house training clinic and teach assessment practicum courses in the APA-accredited doctoral program. Research specialization is open, but applicants must show potential for scholarly productivity, external funding, and training future psychologists.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of assessment services in the clinic.
- Teaching assessment courses.
- Maintaining an active research program.
- Securing external funding.
- Mentoring students.
- Demonstrating teaching excellence.
- Collaborating with colleagues.
- Providing service appropriate to the rank.
This is a full-time, benefit-eligible appointment. Qualifications require a PhD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program by September 1, 2026, and licensure eligibility in Missouri by September 2027. Salary is commensurate with experience.
