Position Function: Assistant or Associate Teaching Professor in Elementary Education at Mississippi State University on the Meridian Campus. The Division of Education invites applicants for a non-tenure track position in Elementary Education beginning Spring 2026.

Salary Grade: UC. Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department.

Area of Specialization: Elementary Education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Division of Education offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Elementary Education. Primary responsibilities include teaching and advisement; supervision of field experience; and providing service and outreach.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Elementary Education or a related field; two years of experience as an elementary/middle school teacher; and demonstration of potential for excellence in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications: More than 2 years of experience as an elementary/middle school teacher; National Board Certification; Experience with CAEP Accreditation; Experience with online and hybrid teaching methodologies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge: Expertise in the subject area and curriculum development; Understanding of learning styles and effective teaching strategies; Familiarity with instructional technology and assessment methods. Skills: Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills; Proficiency in using learning management systems and digital tools. Abilities: Ability to foster a supportive learning environment; Capacity to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students; Commitment to continuous professional development and institutional service.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
