General Information:

James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA, is seeking an Assistant Pitching Coach for Women's Softball. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coaching, training and motivating student-athletes in order to achieve competitive success.
• Support the administration of the program. Duties include assisting the head coach in the development of the pitching staff, maintenance and inventory of equipment; scout opponents and other duties as assigned by head coach.
• Coordinate the recruitment of quality student-athletes who meet admission requirements and who have the potential to graduate and other recruiting needs as assigned by the head coach.
• Encouraging player development by possessing a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential; as our Academic Liaison- take personal responsibility to coordinate with
• Team advisor to monitor academic development.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant institutional, Conference, NCAA rules and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff, and community to better enhance public relations.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• Experience coaching softball pitching and/or collegiate/professional softball pitching experience.
