Position Details : Randolph-Macon College invites
applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor,
21st-c. Global Anglophone Literature in the Department of English
to begin Fall 2027.

The English department gives students an understanding of human nature, society, and history, while at the same time honing their powers of expression. The major thus caters to a wide variety of students, from those with a lifelong love of language and reading, to those who write poetry and fiction, to those eager to understand how language may be used to entertain, move, or persuade. English majors find community in the Washington Literary Society, contribute to our literary journal The Stylus, and participate in unique internship opportunities. An RMC English degree provides students with critical thinking and communication skills that have repeatedly shown themselves valuable in an array of professions as various as law, advertising, teaching, and politics.
Major/Essential Functions : Randolph-Macon College faculty teach, advise, conduct research and engage in scholarship, and serve the college and department. Primary teaching responsibilities will include introductory-level English courses, contributions to the first-year writing program, and seminars in the applicant’s area of expertise.
