Tenure-Track Position in Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship
The Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship Department at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, seeks candidates to fill a full-time, Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position, starting in Fall 2027. We welcome applications from scholars doing research in Strategy-Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management/Organization Theory broadly defined. Candidates must be ABD or have completed a doctorate and must demonstrate a strong commitment to high quality research and teaching.
Faculty in the Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship Department include Mary Benner, Moshe Barach, Susie Choe, Sunasir Dutta, Dan Forbes, Russell Funk, Aseem Kaul, Cathy Lu, Jiao Luo, Alfred Marcus, Myles Shaver, Paul Vaaler, Joel Waldfogel, Sandy Yu, Aks Zaheer, Sri Zaheer, and Shaker Zahra. The department features a vibrant doctoral program and inter-disciplinary faculty engaged in research using many different approaches with a keen focus on quality scholarship. Several department members are active as editors or on the editorial boards of major journals. The Minnesota Carlson is located in Minneapolis, which forms part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, and is home to a vigorous business community. The area features the headquarters of numerous Fortune 500 firms, a number of the world's largest private companies, and has a strong track record of entrepreneurship and innovation. There are clusters of firms in high tech, medical devices, food and agriculture, and financial services, among other sectors. Many faculty members pursue research projects with local companies.
The Twin Cities area is rated among the best metropolitan areas in which to live and is highly regarded for its thriving arts, music and theater communities as well as its diverse recreational opportunities. The University of Minnesota is highly ranked internationally for research and several department faculty maintain close ties with other University departments. These include Sociology and Economics, the College of Science & Engineering, the Law School, the School of Public Policy as well as with the Medical School.

Pay Range: $195,000 - $205,000 Annually; depending on education/qualifications/experience
