Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Agriculture at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor for Academic Year 2026-27. Applicants should hold an earned doctorate degree in agriculture, agriculture business, agriculture economics or a related field (e.g. business, marketing) at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a scheduled doctoral defense that occurs no later than June prior to a Fall appointment. The appointment begins August 2026.
The position serves agriculture majors including concentrations in agribusiness, animal science/livestock management, agronomy/natural resources, agriculture engineering technology, horticulture/landscape design/turfgrass management. It requires a broad-based educational and experiential background. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in a workload consistent with the priorities and needs of the college and Institution. Courses include both farm records and agriculture marketing as well as basic agribusiness courses suitable for undergraduate agriculture majors.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, the successful candidate will develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda; recruit, advise, and mentor students seeking admittance to graduate school or the industry workforce; and participate in service to the department, university, and community. There will also be opportunities to advise student organizations and competitive teams and to represent the department at state, regional, and national meetings/conferences. The successful candidate will have access to the university farm which houses beef, dairy cattle, poultry, sheep, and swine and university horticulture facilities which includes landscape, fruit, vegetable production, greenhouses, fields, golf hole, and landscape design space.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Applicants should hold an earned doctorate degree in agriculture, agriculture business, agriculture economics or a related field (e.g. business, marketing) at the time of appointment. ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a scheduled doctoral defense that occurs no later than June prior to a Fall appointment.
Experience: Applicant should have experience teaching agribusiness or related courses.
